Nationals end six-game skid with 15-6 victory over Rockies
Colorado scored three runs in the first, two on right fielder Carlos Gonzalez’s 28th homer and a third on Desmond’s error.
Michael A. Taylor hit a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh and the Nationals capitalized on a lack of control by Rockies pitchers in a four-run eighth to break open a close game. The right-hander went toe to toe with Clayton Kershaw last Wednesday, yielding just one run on two hits with nine strikeouts over seven innings as the Nats fell 3-0. Carlos Gonzalez was 4 for 12 with three homers and six RBIs for the Rockies and Nolan Arenado was 5 for 12 with a homer and three runs.

Hale had been on the disabled list since July 10 because of a left groin strain.
