Nawaz and his ministers will never declare their assets: Imran Khan
On a question he answered that in NA-122 PTI workers will monitor the election.
“The arrests of the PTI workers will certainly change the focus of PTI from by-elections in Lahore…so we want to mobilise the voters in Lahore after the reluctance of interior ministry to give permission for the rally at D Chowk”, he maintained.
However addressing the media in Islamabad today, Imran Khan said that the party would decide about holding the sit-in in Islamabad after October 11 by-elections.
The rally was aimed to pressurize the members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to resign following the findings of Judicial Commission which held ECP responsible for irregularities during General Elections in 2013.
He also criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for approaching Supreme Court of Pakistan to earn a stay order against a by-poll in NA-154.
Two former members of National Assembly (MNAs) and two former PML-N ticket-holders also announced that they would support PTI’s Jehangir Tareen in the NA-154 elections. By-election in NA-154 will held on October 12.
Mr Khan said Pakistan could not experience “true change” until and unless rigging practices were exposed in the electoral process. “Khan is expected to arrive in Lahore on September 30”, he said. The PTI chief said the PML-N had rigged the general elections in connivance with Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, Justice Khalilur Rehman and ECP staff.
“But, Imran Khan has sabotaged it for his politics”, the minister said in a statement. He stressed that the PTI “tigers” should stay with the ECP staff and ensure no rigging was done. “PM Nawaz Sharif makes policies to improve living standard of the people, while Imran becomes a hurdle in the way of all facilities being extended to the people”, he remarked. He also called upon the government to expedite efforts for tracing the missing Pakistani pilgrims during the stampede, in collaboration with Saudi government, as a large number of Pakistani pilgrims are still missing.
