NBA scores: Stephen Curry injured again as Warriors hold off Nuggets
NBA MVP Steph Curry reinjured his left shin during the Golden State Warriors’ 111-108 overtime win against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
The Nuggets looked in disarray as they tried to keep up against the fast pace of the Warriors offense.
Curry, meanwhile, played 14 1/2 minutes in the first half, helping Golden State build a 63-47 lead.
Stephen Curry came back, only to leave early.
Faried raised his right arm for a thumbs-up to fans who stuck around after Golden State’s 111-108 overtime victory.
It is great to hear that Kenneth Faried is recovering, though his status his yet unclear following this injury. Then after Warriors small forward Andre Iguodala missed on a jumper for the Warriors, Barton’s nifty interior move in the final second forced the extra period.
Thompson finished with 26 points despite 2-for-9 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc, and backup guard Ian Clark had 15 for Golden State (31-2). Everybody picked their game up and the defense finally began to get stops. “When stuff started going wrong, nobody fought and nobody complained to each other”. “It seems like he’s coaching us from the booth and Luke’s just an extension of him”. Denver could be getting Danilo Gallinari back from injury, although Will Barton has averaged 22.8 points in the last six games in his absence. The Spurs broke open a close game that saw eight first-half lead changes with a 26-5 scoring run in the third quarter.
According to Curry, the injury occurred when a Nuggets player made with his leg in the second quarter.
Brook Lopez scored a season-high 30 points and added 13 rebounds to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 100-97 win over the Boston Celtics, while a 32-point haul from Paul George, who scored 21 in the fourth quarter – powered the Indiana Pacers in a 94-82 win over the Detroit Pistons.
The Sacramento Kings overcame the slumping Phoenix Suns 142-119 as coach George Karl tied the record for the fifth-most career wins in National Basketball Association history. As a consolation, though, he was named by the league as a “coach of the month” in October and November. It’s good for George.
Draymond Green is leading the team in two statistical categories, rebounds and assists.
Curry made a 3-pointer for the 104th straight game, which pulled him within 23 games of Atlanta’s Kyle Korver, who holds the record with a 3-pointer in 127 straight games.
