Ndamukong Suh’s Foot Hits Ryan Fitzpatrick’s Head
Though Suh may not have been penalized at the time, it’s safe to say that the National Football League will be taking a look at film of this play and that a fine could be heading Suh’s way in the next few days.
More accurately, what a difference it makes for the New York Jets offense to have two of its three best skill position players on the field. His 5.7 yards-per-rush are the most since 9/7/14 vs. OAK (10.2).
Jets running back Chris Ivory, who had been hampered by strain quadriceps, rushed for a career high 166 yards and a touchdown.
In addition to giving Jets fans much reason to smile about with his efforts, fantasy owners of Ivory will be waking up Monday morning with an even bigger smile heading into the final game of Week 4 on Monday Night Football. It marked his longest catch since 2009, when he hauled in a 75-yard touchdown pass at WAS (11/15/09) as a member of the Denver Broncos. He also caught 2 out of 3 targets for 18 yards. He is the first Jet receiver to record three consecutive 100-yard receiving games since 1988, when Jets Ring-of-Honor WR Al Toon did it (MIA 11/27, at KC 12/4 and vs. IND 12/10). The Dolphins were 0-for-12 on third down and 0-for-4 on fourth.
This was definitely an eerie situation for the Jets heading into this AFC East rivalry game since it was setup just like the Philadelphia Eagles game from the week before in which Gang Green got handed their first loss of the season.
Make no mistake, Marshall may have been held out of the end zone for the first time in his Jets career, but he was still a big part of the offense and once again led the team in receptions (seven) and yards (128).
