Nearly 15000 new Clinton emails gleaned in FBI probe
Abraham past year told AP that his discussions with Clinton were about Middle East policy, and one of the newly released emails show that the following month Abedin wrote that Abraham wanted to talk with Clinton about Israel.
Republicans, who have pressed to keep the issue of Clinton’s email use alive after the FBI closed its investigation last month without recommending criminal charges, weighed in on the latest development Monday.
Boasberg of Washington, however, rejected the State Department proposal, ordering it to prioritise Clinton’s emails and to return to court on September 22 with a new plan, Xinhua news agency reported. He also said it was unclear how many may duplicate those already released but that there were “likely to be quite a few” not previously disclosed.
“The number to be released is almost 50 percent more than the 30,000-plus that Clinton’s lawyers deemed work-related and returned to the department in December 2014”. The second disc is labeled as emails containing classified information.
The House oversight committee is ramping up pressure on anyone who had access to Hillary Clinton’s personal server and classified files – including her lawyers and aides who may not have had sufficient clearance. GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump routinely criticizes Clinton for her handling of emails containing classified information.
Kendall, the attorney, responded: “She does, uh, have an alibi, I presume”.
Just Monday, newly released emails showed longtime aide Huma Abedin working to get Clinton face time with the crown prince of Bahrain, a major donor to the Clinton Foundation.
In a separate lawsuit, a federal judge ordered on Friday that Clinton answer questions from Judicial Watch about why she made a decision to use a private server instead of her government email account.
“Jimmy, my emails are so boring”, Clinton told Kimmel. Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president, served as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.
Olson said the department earlier this month received seven discs containing “tens of thousands” of emails Clinton sent or received during her tenure as the nation’s top diplomat.
“Even worse, this news comes on the heels of the Clinton camp falsely trying to pin her email woes on Colin Powell, raising serious questions about whether she lied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The truth is, she was using (the private email server) for a year before I sent her a memo telling her what I did”, Powell told People on Saturday.
Last week, the FBI provided a summary of its findings and its interview with Clinton to Congress after Republican leaders challenged the conclusions of federal investigators.
On Friday Clinton scored a minor victory against Judicial Watch when a judge said she could answer questions from Judicial Watch lawyers in writing and did not have to be deposed. While Trump has donated to the foundation previously, he has charged Hillary Clinton with creating a “pay-for-play” scheme at the State Department through the work of the foundation.
The email exchange occurred in 2009, according to the Times. “This was someone who had a relationship with the Clintons long before Hillary Clinton became secretary of state”. Clinton’s additional use of a personal computer server at her home, however, broke State Department rules, an internal watchdog found.
