(Neb.)- Five Huskers Suspended For BYU Game
Asked if he’d release the names at some point before the game, Riley said he wanted to think it over. “I’m not going to give you names, and I’m not going to give you why, but it was a team violation”, Riley said. NU practiced in full pads again, as the Huskers continue to prepare for their September 5 season opener against BYU.
Wide receiver Sam Burtch recently suffered a lateral meniscus tear in a knee and underwent surgery.
“I thought our overall pursuit to the ball was better, I thought our positioning on tackling was better”, Banker said. “Same exact deal, but we’ll hope for both of those guys to see where they’re at at that time”, he said. Riley said it’s possible Burtch could be back for the opener. “He has size and he’s a good athlete”, Riley said.
New head coach Mike Riley probably didn’t need another piece of pressure added onto his shoulders, but now it not only appears as if he has the expectations all over the midwest to worry about, but also the need to impress a future difference maker.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers had a odd day, and things got more odd after the end of the Thursday evening practice. Running back Graham Nabity and linebacker Chris Weber also missed Thursday’s practice.
