Nebraska is No. 4 seed, Creighton No. 16 in NCAA volleyball

Big East regular season and tournament champion Creighton earned the #16 national seed, but because they didn’t bid to host, they’ll be headed to North Carolina to take on Coastal Carolina for their first round match.

TCU Volleyball earned its second berth to the NCAA tournament in program history Sunday.

“I know our kids will be ready to play”, WKU coach Travis Hudson said. United Kingdom has never played Robert Morris, the winners of the Northeast Conference, in volleyball.

For the second straight season, five Big 12 volleyball teams have punched tickets to the 2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship. The girls are excited for another opportunity and I think it’s well-deserved.

The last time two Iowa teams reached the NCAA tournament was in 2012.

Loyola Marymount (22-8) and Colorado State (26-3) will meet in the other first-round matchup at Maples Pavilion on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The Lions, who received an at-large bid out of the West Coast Conference, are making their 13th postseason appearance.

Harvard will enter the NCAA tournament with a 15-10 overall record after sharing the Ivy League championship with Princeton with a 10-4 mark. The four NCAA Regional Tournaments will be played on Dec. 11 and 12, with the national semifinal taking place on Dec. 17 and the national champion being determined on Dec. 19 at Century Link Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Trojans are the No. 1 overall seed and were placed in the San Diego Regional, along with Stanford. I felt if we won first round conference tournament we were definitely a bubble team, but there’s a lot of bubble teams.

Seven Pac-12 schools earned bids to the NCAA tournament, including Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon.

“Winning the A-10 is a great accomplishment and getting to the NCAA tournament is always a goal, but we want to do what’s never been done before – make it to the Sweet 16”, sophomore defensive specialist and Centerville native Maggie Schutter said.

For Wallace this marked her second All-Ivy accolade after also being named to the first team in 2013.
