Neil Patrick Harris Is About To Get Really Unfortunate On Netflix
If Neil Patrick Harris does sign on the dotted line, one can assume that Netflix will do chemistry tests involving Harris and the kids they see potential in.
Netflix’s upcoming A Series of Unfortunate Events show has found its Count Olaf!
The series – narrated by Snicket (aka author Daniel Handler) who spends most of his time advising people against reading his work – spanned 13 books, which have sold over 65m copies worldwide.
A Series of Unfortunate Events tells the tale of orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who finds themselves in the villainous clutches of an evil uncle named Count Olaf who has designs on their family fortune.

“The Simpsons” co-creator Matt Groening is in talks with Netflix to partner on a new animated comedy series, according to Deadline. Harris has kept busy with an integral part in the thriller Gone Girl, hosting the Tonys and Oscars in 2015, and spending time with his five-year-old twins with spouse David Burtka, among other projects. Of course, Neil Patrick Harris knows something about drama. Howser also earned Harris a Golden Globe nomination and Neil would continue to play Doogie for four seasons. Apart from Jim Carrey’s unsuccessful, but appreciated 2004 take on the material the Series of Unfortunate Events novels have spawned a great deal of merchandise, from board games to albums.
Sonnenfeld is back to helm the Netflix show as well as serve as co-executive producer with former True Blood showrunner Mark Hudis (Nurse Jackie, That ’70s Show).
Neil Patrick Harris has had a wonderful career in television, including his nine-year stint as Barney Stinson on CBSs How I Met Your Mother.
