Nestlé To Push Super-Premium Chocolate Brand
Nestle has agreed deals to expand sales of its Cailler premium chocolate brand worldwide, the company said on Wednesday, marking the food group’s entry into the global super-premium chocolate segment. The brand will be available in China in mid-November, Nestle said. The 16 piece box now costs £15.90 from the UK Amazon site, while the 25 piece box costs £22.50.
In conjunction with the chocolate’s worldwide debut, Nestle will also launch an aggressive social media campaign to introduce the brand to these new markets.
The Cailler brand was first created in 1819 by M. Francois-Louis Cailler, and have been crafted in “Maison Cailler” in Broc since 1898. His son-in-law then invented the world’s first milk chocolate.
“It has all the characteristics of a super-premium product-a high quality product with a unique brand story and image”, said Sandra Martinez, head of Nestle’s global confectionary business.
Nestle has owned the Callier name since 1929, and the chocolate brand, which produces varieties with hazelnuts, raisins and blueberries, has always been available in Switzerland.
Nestlé noted: “Cailler is part of our heritage. Now chocolate lovers in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and soon in China, can discover uniquely creamy and handsome Cailler Swiss chocolate right in their homes”.
