Netflix Gilmore Girls Revival Confirmed
For weeks and weeks, fans of the hit TV show Gilmore Girls have wondered if the show is actually making a comeback with its original cast or if it is just another unfounded rumour of a comeback.
Rory and Lorelai are coming back, too, as Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel will be returning in original roles of mother and daughter Gilmore.
Lorelai Gilmore herself (aka star Lauren Graham) confirmed the news via the medium of selfie, which in itself is pretty adorable.
Earlier reports indicated that the revival would be a four-episode miniseries of “mini movies”, with each 90-minute installment set to take place over the course of one of the four seasons.
Hollywood Reporter highlighted that the revival will also be a chance for original show producer Sherman-Palladino to return to the series and showcase her talent. An Instagram pic posted this afternoon revealed the episodes will be available sometime this year.
After months of speculation, Netflix confirmed on Friday that “Gilmore Girls” would be returning to the small screen. I can’t confirm this. “We have an unbelievably talented cast, and with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino’s rich writing and character development, the story continues its timeless arc”, said Scott Patterson, who played (and will play) Luke Danes in the show.
Netflix’s “Gilmore Girls” revival hails from Dorothy Parker Drank Here Productions in association with Warner Bros. More information should become available shortly, so stay tuned. Netflix has not yet set a title for the revival.
The 48-year old actress also gave a message to her fans, as she received Logo TV’s New Now Next TV Honoree award. This was mainly due to Amy Sherman-Palladino not being apart of the final season and not able to end it the way she had planned. According to E! News, Berta and Alejandro, a Peruvian couple, will make appearances, along with a miserable man who never smiles named Nat Compton.
