Netflix releases schedule for upcoming original films | Money
The company announced the release dates for their first set of original feature films on Tuesday.
Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, starring Paul Reubens, Joe Manganiello and Alia Shawkat, and produced by none other than Judd Apatow.
Beasts is also premiering in select cinemas that same day, and looks likely to be an awards season hopeful.
– The Ridiculous Six will premiere on December 11.
As for “Green Legend”, the sequel to popular 2000 blockbuster “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon“, the film will open theatrically in China, in IMAX, and on Netflix during the first quarter of 2016.
Netflix users will be spending the holidays with Adam Sandler, but will have to wait until next year for the return of Pee-wee Herman.

The film, based on Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala’s 2005 novel of the same name, will follow Agu, a child soldier separated from his family during a civil war in an African country. Idris Elba stars as a warlord who mentors the young boy, played by Abraham Attah. The film is produced by Amy Kaufman and Cary Fukunaga (who previously worked together on Sin Nombre), Daniela Taplin Lundberg, Riva Marker and Dan Crown for Red Crown Productions, along with Elba.

Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow will each release movies on the streaming service over the next year. Plot details for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend remain vague, but it is confirmed that Michelle Yeoh will be reprising her role as Yu Shu Lien.
Finally, there’s a Pee-Wee Herman film coming in March next year.
