Netflix renews ‘Jessica Jones,’ sets ‘Kimmy Schmidt,’ ‘Orange’ premiere dates

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, Netflix has renewed Marvel’s Jessica Jones for a second season.
We can also tell you the second season will be another 13 episodes, and that showrunner Melissa Rosenberg is back on board. In addition to that, the site has also announced premiere dates for additional upcoming series. Daredevil will return for season 2 on March 18 and the next series up will be Luke Cage – based on a character who first debuted during Jessica Jones season 1. Then, they will follow that series with at least one season of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and obviously, another season of Jessica Jones before all four shows will come together in a miniseries called The Defenders. The series, which stars Krysten Ritter (Veronica Mars) as the titular private detective, was well-received by critics when it premiered in November.
The timetable for releasing all those shows is unclear at this point, but that’s the big plan!
Jessica Jones follows the exploits of a former nearly superhero who was granted powers as a young girl before she is tormented for years by a man named Kilgrave, who can control her every thought and every action before she finally escapes.
