Netflix sets premiere date for ‘Pee-wee’s Big Holiday,’ posts trailer
Holiday is the latest Pee-wee project for Reubens, who’s played the character on-screen since 1981, earning 22 Emmys in five years for Pee-wee’s Playhouse on CBS. The streaming site released the first teaser for the Judd Apatow-produced Pee-wee’s Big Holiday.
Pee-Wee Herman is making a comeback, and Netflix has announced the premiere date of its coming movie, Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday, which becomes available to stream on Friday, Mar. 18. He’s still the childlike goofball character whose process for getting out of bed in the morning apparently involves a dropping piano, a giant helium balloon, and a set of skis. The movie debuts as an Netflix exclusive movie on March 18th, the same day as the premiere of the second season of Daredevil. “We’re just trying to help to make another one”. Are you a Pee-wee fan? John Lee (Doggie Fizzle Televizzle) directed the film, which was written by Reubens and Paul Rush (Arrested Development). The film co-stars Joe Manganiello, Jessica Pohly, Alia Shawkat and Stephanie Beatriz.
“I love Pee-wee Herman, and I always wanted more Pee-wee Herman movies and TV shows so I’m very excited to see the film, which is really amusing and silly and stays to the spirit of all his other work”, Apatow said at TCA.
