Netflix to Launch New Mr. Peabody & Sherman Show
Netflix is working on a reboot of the beloved franchise, and will release a 13-episode series called “The New Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show” in October, Variety reported on Friday. The New Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show will feature its lead characters as they chat with famous figures from throughout history, such as Mozart, Napoleon, and Edgar Allan Poe. Mr. Peabody created the WABAC machine, which allows him and his adopted son, Sherman, to travel throughout time. The studio took a $57 million impairment charge for the first quarter of 2014 because of poor box office results for “Mr. Peabody and Sherman”.
“The New Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show” is set to premiere October 9 in the US and UK, with the release date for Australia to be determined. Max Charles will reprise his role as the voice of Sherman, and Mr. Peabody will be voiced by Chris Parnell, who now voices Jerry on “Rick and Morty”.
Netflix will introduce a new original series for kids, THE NEW MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN SHOW, from DreamWorks Animation.
