Netflix turning 200 coffee shops into ‘Gilmore Girls’ Luke’s Diners
Customers started lining up hours before the store even opened.
There’s a new diner in Burlington for Wednesday morning only, and it has people literally lining Church Street for coffee.
From Alexis Bledel to Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop, all of your favorite citizens of Stars Hollow make an appearance in the new clip. Buon Giorno was one of the 14 Texas locations. Baristas got into character by wearing Luke’s signature apron and backwards baseball cap, while server Sonia Parga embodied the character of St. James by wearing a white chef’s coat, pigtails and headscarf. Numerous fans wore flannel too. “I couldn’t wait to experience Luke’s Diner”.
Inside, a “no cell phones” sign hung behind the counter.
By 10 a.m., Greenwood says he brewed about 400 cups of coffee and was quickly running out.
Though the mother/daughter drama is often touted as a “girl’s show”, there were plenty of male fans in line for coffee.
The promotion runs until noon. The line was constantly out the door, bringing lots of fans through. The line was too long, I’m impatient and had to go to work, so I left.

The owner of Fox Coffee House said she was pleasantly surprised when the network chose her shop, but she was a bit shocked at the number of fans that showed up. On the Facebook event page, some expressed frustration. Wise said she is excited to watch the revival show. Lorelai and Rory return to Stars Hollow on November 25, and it wouldn’t be Gilmore Girls without a cup of coffee, or 10, from Luke’s. Each 90-minute episode is set in a different season: winter, spring, summer and fall.
