Nevan Subotic on Jurgen Klopp’s radar as Reds boss
Klopp, in an attempt to further distance himself from links, says there is also no agreement in place that says Dortmund can’t purchase Liverpool players.
Jurgen Klopp says he’s unconcerned with the narrow margin Liverpool’s win over Swansea, and believes his side is improving.
And Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that he is not prevented from making a move for any of those stars.
“There is nothing between us and if there was a possibility that we could get one of those players AND we needed him, then we could try it”, said Klopp. The new Reds manager has been coy over his potential targets in the upcoming January transfer window, and will make a late decision on any business after assessing the club’s injury list.
“I have a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund and a good relationship with all the players there – there is nothing negative between us”.
He said: “There is no agreement with Borussia Dortmund”.
Now Watzke, who has been heavily involved at Dortmund since the mid-1990s, has backed up Klopp’s comments by claiming there would be no issue with the 48-year-old showing an interest in Dortmund’s players.
“I am very happy for Jurgen that things are running that well after such a short space of time”, Watzke told Die Welt.
“I’m a bit more direct, sometimes cynical and sarcastic, that’s why I find it perfectly fine that Hans-Joachim Watzke doesn’t consider me to be low-maintenance”, said Hummels. At this moment there is nothing to talk about.
“We have no problems with each other, we discuss things openly and we will continue to do so”, he added.
