New 21.5-inch iMac with 4K to go on sale next week
At a glance, you won’t be able to tell the difference between the current iMac and the new 4K model. This goes in line with Apple’s holiday strategy and the completion of its fall lineup along with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, and the iPad Pro which is set to be released in November. Perhaps it was too jam-packed because the 21.5-inch 4K iMac that has been hinted at for months didn’t make an appearance.
No aesthetic are changes expected, meaning the rumoured 4096 x 2304 4K display will headline the new iMac.
Just like the 5K 27-inch iMac, the new 21.5-inch model will look unchanged. According to an earlier report published on 9to5Mac, Apple could debut a new 21.5-inch iMac with 4K Retina display by the next week. It is rumored that the 21.5- inch iMac 4k will boast a faster graphics card so video- experience should be improved. It was also mentioned at the time that the new device may feature Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200, which is the graphics chipset that accompanies Intel’s newest line of Broadwell processors.
And it’s one that still gives the 27-inch 5K iMac a comfortable lead. The new all-in-one will also nearly certainly ship with El Capitan and be a little pricier than its non-4K brethren.
Outside of the new desktop, the new Magic Mouse and Bluetooth keyboard Apple’s been working on could also launch next week, but this has yet to be confirmed.
It’s also possible that new Mac accessories could become available next week alongside the updated iMac.
Since there was no official statement made regarding the launch date of the 21.5- inch iMac or its exact specs, we sill have to wait another few days to see what will happen.
