New 3DS Cover Plates Now Available

The standard New 3DS is out now in North America along with some swappable cover plates.

Today marks the day when North Americans can finally choose between the pocket-sized New Nintendo 3DS and its larger compliment the New Nintendo 3DS XL. For you guys, there are several decals/skins available that offer a similar level of customization as these smaller cover-plates.

The New 3DS is now available in a $220 bundle with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, two face plates, and a random amiibo card (the first hit is free). They tend to vary in price, but hover around the $12.99 to $16.99 range. The available plates feature different colours and designs such as plain pink, turquoise, camouflage and black and white polka dots. The Legend of Zelda one is the only one that costs $16.99. Nintendo America’s support page notes that those who want to change the plates should come prepared with a #0 cross-head (+) screwdriver.
