New ‘Agent Carter’ cast revealed at New York Comic Con
Loeb greeted the crowed, who responded with thunderous applause. Luckily, Agent Carter had enough announcements to sate the crowd. Clark Gregg, who stars as Agent Coulson on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The chant of “Carter” switched quickly to “Coulson!”
Season 2 of Marvel’s Agent Carter will premiere in January of 2016 as a midseason show when Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD goes on haitus.
Three years (and three seasons) later, Gregg returned to NYCC and he came bearing gifts: specifically an all-new episode of S.H.I.E.L.D. airing on October 13, “A Wanted (Inhu)man” picks up with Simmons readjusting to life in our dimension after Fitz brought her back through the Monolith from the alien realm where she’s been trapped for months. Jarvis explains to Peggy that the windows can be tinted to allow for more “privacy”. He revealed that they are now on production of their 50 episode.
We also found out that Season 2 of Agent Carter is now filming in Los Angeles, which is why stars Hayley Atwell and James D’Arcy were not in attendance, though they did provide a record message.
Today at New York Comic Con, Marvel Television announced several new members to the cast of Marvel’s Agent Carter including Wynn Everett, Lotte Verbeek, Currie Graham and Reggie Austin!
He did offer us more details on the development of the Inhumans, saying: “I think really what’s important this season is we’ll be exploring humanity, in that we’re looking at Inhumans and the way we deal with people who are different”. Opinions on how to handle these people could even create a schism within his team that mirrors what we will see between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Caps (Chris Evans) teams during the film itself.
But regardless of which side fans were on, everyone was treated to a few news about their favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. show, and the evening culminated in a sneak peek of this Tuesday’s AoS.
Coulson, with the help of Daisy and Mack (Henry Simmons), will work to slowly assemble a team that is stronger than ever before, combining the highly skilled Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with powered individuals in the hopes of protecting the innocent in a world where the balance of power is ever-shifting, and new dangers are constantly emerging.
On the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. front, Gregg and Loeb joked back and forth on stage a little.
