New allegations against SCOTUS nominee Brent Kavanaugh submitted to Senate committee
Republican leaders indicated they were still determined to have the committee vote on recommending Kavanaugh on Friday – after a dramatic Thursday hearing at which both Kavanaugh and one of his accusers, California college professor Christine Blasey Ford, are to testify.
Julie Swetnick’s claims related to 10 house parties she attended in the Washington DC are between 1981 and 1983, when Mr Kavanaugh would have been a teenager. She claims that at a high school party, Kavanaugh pinned her down, groped her and attempted to take off her clothes before she broke free.
Swetnick did not identify who allegedly raped her.
She added that they “engaged in highly inappropriate conduct, including being overly aggressive with girls and not taking “no” for an answer”. He also claims to have been a virgin in high school. Ford’s name is not mentioned.
Kavanaugh has repeatedly denied ever sexually assaulting anyone.
The letter was addressed to committee chairman Sen.
