New Apple TV Remote App Now Available For iPhone, Fully Supports Siri
Now, Apple has released a new app, called Apple TV Remote, that emulates the physical Siri Remote.
There is a new site aimed at documenting the “Hey Siri” commands available for use on iOS devices, such as iPhones and iPads.
In general, the new app mirrors that of the new Apple TV remote – the physical remote. The app which is compatible with IOS 9.3.2 or later is here to replace the remote that usually comes with the Apple TV and starting today, everyone who has an iPhone can download it from the App Store.
Apple has launched the Apple TV’s companion iPhone remote app. Regular Siri can not be used to control the Apple TV. You can download the app now. As pointed out by MacRumors, using the app is actually more efficient in certain ways, such as entering your username and password as you can type it out on the iPhone’s keyboard which is faster. And launching a game on your Apple TV triggers “gamepad mode”: a landscape control scheme that splits your phone’s screen into a touchscreen on the left and two buttons, “A” and “X”, on the right. The remote app also offers control over movies, TV shows, or songs that are playing now. This can be done using the iPhone’s software keyboard to enter text, email addresses, and passwords, play, pause, fast forward, or rewind now playing videos or songs. This app supports all the Apple TV generations. For users, this thing is very frustrating that this app again is not iPad optimized.
More than half a year after first teasing it, Apple released their new Remote app for the revamped Apple TV.
– Play games using the accelerometer and gyroscope.
It’s a completely rework app that might come in handy. Instead of controlling the game with the iPhone’s sensors, gamers can now have onscreen controls that simplify the process.
