New BlackBerry Handset Running Samsung’s Exynos 7420 Processor Visits GFXBench
What is most interesting about this phone is the fact that it runso n a Samsung Exynos chipset! It is possible that BlackBerry is looking into alternative chipset brands in order to provide some other type of processing power to its next Android smartphone.
A new BlackBerry smartphone is being tested on GFXBench according to a recent release. Chinese maker Meizu revealed its Pro 5 handset in September with a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED screen, which is Samsung’s name for its OLED screen product with an integrated digitizer, and features the Exynos 7420 processor which rests inside devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and also S6 Edge.
The company recently jumped ship and gave up their classic BB OS for the Android when they released their first ever Android smartphone a few weeks ago -the Blackberry Priv. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, as it is possible that the entry on the benchmarking site is forged. However, now, a new BlackBerry handset running the Exynos 7420 SoC has emerged.
When it comes to camera configuration, a 16-megapixel rear-facing sensor, in addition to a generous 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, is apparently part of the new phone. Connectivity options such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are also present.
The specifications of the new BlackBerry handset are a lot similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S6 and chances are that the GFXBench listing may be a fake one with S6 specification on a changed model number. Many companies and retailers have now confirmed the deals that they will be offering this Black Friday, and BlackBerry is getting in on the fun as well with up to 20 percent discount on select handsets.
This can be achieved easily by someone who simply edits the build.prop file, causing the entry to look like a legitimate BlackBerry smartphone.
