New Bond opens here and United Kingdom first
Movie fans may be shaken – not stirred – to hear London will host the world premiere of the next James Bond movie, Spectre.
The 24th film in the series based on the character created by Ian Fleming is the fourth starring Daniel Craig as James Bond.
In the film, a cryptic message from 007’s past sets him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization – the SPECTRE of the title.
The date of the premiere is October 26, though no official venue has been announced yet.
As usual with Bond films, most of the plot details of “Spectre” have been kept under wraps.
United Kingdom audiences will also be the first in the world to see the movie as it will open in cinemas across the United Kingdom and Ireland simultaneously. The last Bond film, Skyfall, was released in 2012 earning $1.1 billion or roughly £700m worldwide. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the bad truth behind SPECTRE.
Spectre, directed by Skyfall’s Sam Mendes, is out in the U.S. on 6 November.
New additions to the cast are Monica Belluci, Lea Seydoux, Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman, former wrestler David Bautista, and Academy Award victor Christoph Waltz as Bond’s new nemesis, Franz Oberhauser.
