New Cavs centre Bogut dealing with ‘immigration issues’

The Aussie big man suffered what appeared to be a season-ending injury to his left leg in his debut for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bogut has just recently signed with Cleveland last week, turning down several bigger contracts and more playing time to help the Cavs defend their National Basketball Association title.

The break was so loud TV microphones captured it.

Despite the noise from 20,000 fans, superstar James said he heard the sickening crack.

Andrew Bogut signed with the Cavaliers four days ago and was expected to be a huge addition to the team’s depth for a run through the postseason.

Bogut, a former No 1 draft pick, came off second best and was left grimacing in pain on the sidelines before being carried into the rooms by two teammates, unable to put weight on the leg.

Bogut only signed with the Cavaliers on Thursday and his season is nearly certainly over. “We’ve got a bunch of guys working for us who played for us”, Riley told the Vertical.

The Cleveland Cavaliers usually win when their stars shine.

Bogut was brought in by Cleveland to sure up their second unit, and provide some rim protection. No punches were thrown, but it nonetheless was a freakish moment in an otherwise tiresome night in which Cavs stars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving both rested.

Initial x-rays revealed a fractured left tibia, according to Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com, who added Bogut is heading to the hospital for further evaluation.

“We can hope for the best. but it’s a tough one not only for him, first of all, but for our ballclub”. He also ranks among the franchise leaders in free throws made and attempted (4th), steals (4th) and minutes played (4th).

The 2015-16 NBA Finals swung in the Cavaliers’ favor in part because Bogut got hurt in the series, and injuries limited the 32-year-old to 26 games with the Dallas Mavericks this season.
