New Christopher Nolan Movie Coming Out July 2017
EW has confirmed that Warner Bros. also holds the worldwide rights to the forthcoming film.
While we don’t yet know what it will be, we do now know that Christopher Nolan‘s next film will release in 2017. While it’s hard to say exactly why Warner Bros. would choose such a risky release date, there is an explanation as to why the studio has so much faith in a Christopher Nolan-directed feature.
The Nolan movie is the fourth title to be dated for July 21, 2017, following Universal’s “Pitch flawless 3”, EuropaCorp’s “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” and an untitled Blue Sky animation project from Fox.
Nolan’s picture arrives one week after Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and War of the Planet of the Apes, and one week ahead of Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man reboot.
Previous year Interstellar, the British director’s ambitious space epic, grossed $675 million at the global box office.
Outside of The Prestige and Interstellar, all of Nolan’s post-Memento movies have been distributed by Warner Bros.
We first got wind of the new Nolan film in July, when cinematographer Will McCrabb reported Nolan had just completed a “comprehensive draft” of the screenplay for his new film. Nolan even managed to direct a documentary short titled Quay, which explores the stop-motion work and studio of filmmakers Stephen and Timothy Quay. No further details have been released.
