New Cruz ad hits Trump’s character, accuses him of ‘sleaze’

Ted Cruz’s national spokesman called Donald Trump’s bid for the White House “the Seinfeld candidacy” Wednesday night, saying that the entire campaign “is about nothing”.

“What does he do?” one of the other boys asks.

“Hey Hillary, I’ll give you money to be my friend”, says one of the kids, acting out a fictional conversation between Trump and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, one of the Democratic presidential candidates. ‘I like bailouts for the banks!’ he says.

In reference to Trump’s efforts years ago to use eminent domain law to evict an elderly woman from her Atlantic City home so he could build a limousine parking lot, one of the kids holds up a doll who is supposed to be the elderly resident and says: “Look at my house, Mr. Trump”.

CNN has reached out to Trump’s campaign for comment.

Then the kids proceed to tear down the doll house, shouting “eminent domain”.

“This shaping up as a Trump-Cruz race to the finish”, said the NY congressman on AM970 The Answer’s John Grambling Show.

Eminent domain and Coking’s story were prominently featured in Cruz’s first attack ad against Trump, which claimed the real estate developer “won’t change the system — he’s what’s wrong with it”. His campaign ended up only publicly releasing a single TV ad aimed at the state, and although Cruz spent nearly all his time in New Hampshire after the Iowa caucuses, his total hours on the ground there paled in comparison to the frequent trips he made to the Hawkeye State. But Trump has remained consistently supportive of the practice.
