New Doctor Strange Trailer Released
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch from Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange (L) and actress Brie Larson announced as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers at Comic-Con.
The 6,500-plus audience, many of whom had queued overnight at San Diego’s annual film and pop culture event, were introduced to the lead cast of the Black Panther movie, directed by Creed filmmaker Ryan Coogler. Weak trailers haven’t helped so far, so it’ll be interesting to see how people react to the new one. “We actually have a lot today”, said president Kevin Feige, who served as ringmaster.
The movie will star Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chiwetel Ejofor as Karl Mordo, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, and Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius who will be the movie’s main antagonist. The synopsis along with the details of the cast were revealed as well at the Comic Con. “He’s just at the beginning of understanding our reality”.
Bratt’s role in the film has yet to be revealed. He looks the part and it appears as if he is going to take the challenge on easily.
There was also a surprise glimpse of “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, with very early footage from the film due for release in on July 7 next year showing Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland.
DC Comics will debut its top female superhero next summer, when Wonder Woman’s solo debut (starring Gal Gadot) comes a year after “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” began Warner Bros.’s efforts to join its superheroes in a connected movie universe.
“I am literally vibrating inside”, Boseman said as he took to the stage for his first Comic-Con.
By contrast, the MCU has existed for almost a decade, yet Marvel Studios is still three years away from releasing its first solo female superhero movie. Marvel gave fans some to shout and scream about, getting showstoppers from the upcoming three movies: Spider-Man: Homecoming, Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
