New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts Preview: QB Andrew Luck to Start
The New England Patriots have the right to be angry the Indianapolis Colts kicked off the deflated football scandal by contacting the NFL in the first place.
The Patriots are favored by seven points against the Colts this week and the Over/Under (O/U) is sitting at 55 points. And after the first play of the game, anything can happen.
Patriots linebacker Dont’a Hightower has been ruled out with a rib injury, so they have one fewer pass rusher to get after Luck.
The odds would appear to be against Luck having success if he plays Sunday night, considering he’s off to the worst start of his career and has missed two straight games. Part of that has been the rise of running back Dion Lewis, who is averaging 5 yards per carry and has caught 23 balls this season.
This sample of National Football League experts believes the Patriots are going to give the Colts something special to remember Sunday night (8:30 p.m., NBC).
When Nate Solder left Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, nobody expected that to be the last time we saw him this season. A third back, Jonas Gray, ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-20 blowout of the Colts. Good luck stopping New England tonight. Aside from all of the fireworks the Patriots are playing very good football at the moment as they’re a ideal 4-0 on the season and face off against a Colts team who despite winning three in a row has looked very suspect in each of those victories. Now the Patriots will be looking to embarrass the Colts even further this weekend with the whole country watching. The Colts have only beaten the Patriots 29 times in a series that began in 1970.
But seriously though, even though this is Snitches Get Stitches Bowl week, we’re here to take all of the Colts’ offensive threats as the blitzkreig they have the potential to be.
That sent Brady to court and last month, just days before the start of the season, US District Court judge Richard Berman threw out Brady’s suspension.
When asked how there could not be extra incentive, Brady said: “I’m always pretty motivated regardless of the opponent, regardless of the team or the week, whether it’s a preseason game, whether it’s a regular season game”.
The Colts may only be at 3-2, but the other three teams in the division have just one win each.
