New England Patriots equipment staff members reinstated by the NFL
Two New England Patriots employees suspended in connection with Deflategate were reinstated Wednesday. The Patriots insisted that the NFL suspended them, which would explain why the NFL originally stipulated that NFL VP of Football Operations Troy Vincent first agree to reinstatement before the two men returned to the team.
Per the NFL’s May 11 statement announcing their suspensions, he is “barred from serving as a locker room attendant for game officials, or having any involvement with the preparation, supervision or handling of footballs or any other equipment on game day”.
Of course, part of Ted Wells’ report on his investigation into the Patriots showed text messages in which McNally referred to himself as “the deflator.”
Some are questioning the validity of Baltz’s accusations after it was revealed that he was involved with five or six games in Foxborough during the Belichick/Brady era, instead of the 10 to 15 games he claimed. That being said, I’m sure there will still be roughly 1 billion more Deflategate jokes over the course of the rest of the season. “I think there’s probably still a fair amount of time before both sides are willing to really roll up their sleeves and get something done”. “‘Are the footballs ready yet?”
The Patriots suspended Jastremski and McNally despite the team denying any wrongdoing. Obviously the league didn’t find any faults with McNally when you reported him to league officials.
“He (McNally) was always anxious about the footalls, ” Baltz said. But, oh wait, we know they were following orders from someone – Tom Brady – to take air out of the football. “All I know is, when he got them [the footballs], he would run. I just feel bad that they’re not with our team”.
Official game balls for NFL football’s Super Bowl XLIX wait to be laced at the Wilson Sporting Goods Co.in Ada, Ohio, Tuesday, January 20, 2015. The ESPN report that put Jim McNally into the public light stated that McNally started working with the Patriots in 2008. Then, next thing, he’s on the sidelines right next to Belichick, like he’s a f***ing assistant coach or something.
