New England Patriots injury update: WR Brandon Gibson placed on IR
The news of Tyms’ status comes on the same day the Patriots announced that veteran receiver Brandon Gibson was placed on season-ending injured reserve. This in part necessitated the Patriots’ signing of Reggie Wayne.
Brandon Gibson’s first season in New England is over before it really started.
Gibson had been the most consistent receiver in two preseason games for the Patriots. He injured his right knee on this play versus the Saints Saturday.
Gibson had been having a solid camp after signing a one-year, $825,000 deal this offseason, and was battling for the no. 4 wide reciever spot before going down. It’s clear that the Patriots had a plan in mind for getting the 6’0, 210 lbs Washington State graduate the football.
Lynch, 22, was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Bowling Green on June 11, 2015 and released on August 1, 2015. He had his best season as a junior in 2013 when he started all 14 games and was named All-MAC after finishing with a team-high of 83 total tackles.
