New England Patriots v. Carolina Panthers NFL football game tonight
It’s important for the long-term outlook of the team that both Garoppolo is as ready as possible for the regular season and that Brady feels as comfortable as possible heading into his suspension.
Tom Brady will reportedly play in preseason Week 3 against Panthers: The Patriots quarterback will indeed play Friday night against the Carolina Panthers.
The Patriots inch closer to making their regular season debut but have a couple games left before doing so and will look to use this road tune up as a measuring stick against one of the other top teams in the National Football League from Carolina. The Panthers split their first two games, with a loss to the Baltimore Ravens, 22-19, and a victory over the Tennessee Titans, 26-16. Preseason reps may not resemble the tempo of the postseason but unfortunately that’s all Garoppolo has availale at his disposal at the current time. He had acted like it was a HUGE deal.
In all likelihood, he won’t get much more than a drive or two.
This marks only the second time since Week 2 of the 2001 regular season that Brady entered a game as a backup, when healthy. If that means he needs to get his one preseason start in (and make no mistake, if he’s playing he’s starting) and play a couple of series behind the starting offensive line and facing a legit defense at real game speed, so be it. Let Brady do it the way he wants and keep the guy happy heading into a hard time.
Do you think Tom Brady should play in the preseason?
