New ‘Fantastic Four’ Posters are Heroic
The two French posters feature Miles Teller at the front of the group, which makes sense, as Mr. Fantastic is the team’s de facto leader.
Much of the Fantastic Four posters up to this point have focused on the four main characters in various poses as destruction occurs behind them, and these new one don’t offer up too much of a difference.
“People are religious about comics the way people are religious about the Bible”, Trank told LA Times.
Many are already speculating that behind-the-scenes turmoil may be responsible for the 3D drop, especially in light of extensive reshoots that likely didn’t leave adequate time for the conversion process to be completed.
Starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B.
The Fantastic Four were previously brought to life in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).
Fantastic Four opens on August 7th.
The story centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and unsafe universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
The first poster is set behind the city skyline, with the face of Doctor Doom (played by Toby Kebbell) appearing in the background. Arriving on the brink of San Diego Comic-Con, the stills are an effort to drum up excitement for the film’s panel during the course of the event, which both Simon Kinberg and director Josh Trank will host in the famous Hall H. The Fantastic Four (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) will hit stores a week later and is mostly composed by Marco Beltrami and Phillip Glass.
