New Firefox Tool Blocks Ads, Prevents Tracking
Mozilla has just released a new feature called Tracking Protection for its Firefox web browser. The feature, when activated, blocks ads, analytics trackers, social share buttons and anything else that might want to record your behaviour in the background. It deletes user’s browsing history and cookies after they closed a private window.
Mozilla has announced that it has brought its Tracking Protection feature by default to Firefox’s private browsing mode.
Mozilla is taking your Internet browsing privacy to a new level, adding a new feature to Firefox supposed to protect your privacy better when surfing the net.
Dubbed Tracking Protection, the feature is part of the browser’s existing Private Browsing mode, and gives users control over the data that third-parties receive from them. Like Chrome’s Incognito mode and Safari’s Private Browsing mode, Firefox Private Browsing mode blocks cookies and Web history from being tracked.
The latest Firefox comes with the Control Center that allows users to view the security and privacy that they sites they visit are offering.
Firefox 42 is available as a free update from the Mozilla website or through your now installed Firefox browser on computers that run PC, Mac and Linux. The idea, according to Mozilla vice president of product Nick Nguyen, isn’t to make an ad blocker – but rather to set clear guidelines that may, in time, improve the quality of ads users see. These platforms allow you to build, launch, and manage professional looking website for pennies on the dollar.
For desktop, Firefox 42.0 adds an indicator for tabs that play audio. As PCWorld explains, it’s not the end of the world for advertisers considering Firefox represents a small percentage of total browser users (fewer still use Private Browsing). Why would protecting you from unwanted tracking makes pages load faster? Meanwhile, the DevTools Challenger provides more relevant information and a hands-on experience for the developers and coders.
Furthermore, the Firefox team has introduced new visual editing tools in Firefox Developer Edition, which includes Animation Tools. And if you use Firefox on Android, you can take advantage of other new features too.
