New generation Hyundai Elantra launched in India

While the new 2.0 litre petrol variants costs between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 17.99 lakh, the 1.6 litre diesel variants are to cost between Rs 14.79 lakh and Rs 19.19 lakh in a Delhi showroom. As this is the most affordable high-end technology included sedan.

While the Elantra and the Corolla Altis offer a petrol and a diesel engine each, the Octavia comes with a choice of two petrol and one diesel engine. Hyundai launched the new Elantra at the introductory price of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes its cheaper by about Rs 1 lakh compared to its rivals. It comes with features like 6 Airbags, Dual Airbags and Anti-lock brake system (ABS) with EBD as Standard, Reverse parking camera with steering adaptive guidelines & Reverse Parking Sensors, Electronic Stability control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Front Projection Fog Lamps, High Intensity Discharge (HID) Head Lamps (New), Height Adjustable Front Seat Belts, Impact Sensing Door Unlock/Speed Sensing Lock. “With Elantra we will further strengthen our market share in the country”, said Hyundai Motor India MD and CEO YK Koo adding that in order to achieve market leadership in India, Hyundai would introduce two advanced products every year. While the petrol model will have a 2.0-litre dual VTVT unit producing 148bhp and 190 NM of peak torque, the diesel model will have a 1.6-litre CRDi unit, capable of churning out 126bhp and 265Nm of peak torque. As mentioned before, these engines will be available with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. The feature list also includes sunroof as well as smart tailgate system that automatically opens the trunk within three seconds of standing close to the rear of the vehicle. The diesel Elantra returns a mileage of 22.54km/l with the manual gearbox and 18.54km/l with the automatic gearbox. The new sedan comes in a completely new look from its predecessor.

The cabin has been updated with more premium design along with plusher materials. The ventilated front seats come with 10-way power adjustability.
