New global trailer for Disney’s Moana
The sequence depicts the title character as a toddler playing in the surf as she discovers her magical connection with the ocean, shown here as a sentient lifeform like something from “The Abyss”, only cuddlier. The new trailer appeared to explain why the Disney princess is gifted with navigational talent.
But unlike the previous trailer, which hinges on action and comedy, this worldwide version homes in on a sweet, nostalgic moment for Moana (voiced by 14-year-old Hawaiian actress Auliʻi Cravalho) in an impossibly ideal backdrop. “There is one other very important character we want to mention in this movie, the Pacific Ocean”, he stated. To learn more about the culture of the people living in the South Pacific, they traveled to places, like Fiji, to gain more knowledge about the people.
“Moana” arrives in theaters November 23.
According to Movie Plot, Moana will be the first Polynesian princess featured in a Disney film.
Musker and Clements made a point to say that Moana doesn’t have a love interest in this story and that it’s a film about the heroine finding herself.
“I’m just being myself, really”, she said. It’s a coming-of-age tale that revolves around Auli’i Cravalho’s wide-eyed newcomer and her quest across the ocean to pinpoint a mystical island.
The first trailer of Moana was released last June, gaining mostly positive reviews.
