New ‘Gotham’ season 2 promo teases the rise of villains
“Villains will rise” is the tag line of the show’s Season 2 trailer that predominantly features Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome stirring up trouble. I worry that they’re going to throw a twist in there to surprise viewers and have someone else end up being the Joker, despite the fact that make Jerome’s character existence complete insanity. The released trailer also showcased his infamous grin and laugh.
These are just some of the many villains who will grace us with their presence in the following season, minor hints being directed to some other majors who will come to influence Batman’s life. The show aims to create a better narrative for the origin stories of the villains.
In any case, it looks like Jerome will be around for a while, as will the other villains. The first season had some problems, largely thanks to a herky-jerky production schedule, and it doesn’t seem to have entirely learned its lesson on limiting the size of its cast.
This new promo is pretty short on heroes but heavy on villains, including Robin Lord Taylor’s Penguin, Camren Bicondova’s antihero Cat, andCory Michael Smith’s Riddler, along with new additions James Frain as Theo Galavan, and Jessica Lucas as his sister Tabitha, aka Tigress. To delve a little more deeply into what that will entail, Cannon also told Collider that the goals in Season 2 have changed to reflect the changing attitude of the drama. The tunnel has been confirmed as the “Bat Cave”. Several episodes gave us characters with the potential to someday become the Clown Prince of Crime, but the show’s producers have refused to say which one of them is the real deal. He is bound to get more storylines in the upcoming season.
The entire even was relatively built up after Stephen Amell’s comments on Bruce Wayne’s appearance in Arrow.
Gotham season 2 kicks off on Monday the 21st of September in the USA, on Fox.
