New Hampshire offering nicotine patches to help quit smoking
At the beginning e-cigarettes looked like traditional cigarettes but designs are evolving.

To arrive at their conclusion, a team of USA researchers experimented with human cells in Petri dishes treated with vapor extracts from two famous brands of e-cigarettes.
For the first time, e-cigarettes have been granted a license by the medicine regulators in the UK. The study’s interpretation and methodology have, however, been subjected to a barrage of criticisms.
The ministry’s website states: “there is not enough evidence to be able to recommend e-cigarettes as an aid to quit”.
Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who has spoken about his battle to give up smoking, said he thought it was a legitimate path to giving up smoking. The numbers have quadrupled over four years in Hawaii public high school students.
“The free services of the Kansas Tobacco Quitline provide Kansans with effective tools to help them quit smoking or using smokeless tobacco”, said Brandon Skidmore, Director, Bureau of Health Promotion.
According to the new smoking rules, anyone that sells any type of cigarettes or tobacco products to people that are under 21 risks fines of up to $2,000.
“When we can prevent sailors from smoking or using tobacco, if we can get them to quit, then that improves their fitness and readiness, and it saves them a ton of money too”, said Bill Doughty, spokesman for the Navy Region Hawaii, according to AP.
Public Health England reported previous year findings of an independent review that concluded that e-cigarettes are 95% safer than smoking tobacco.
Rutgers used data from the 2014 National Health Interview survey.
“Potentially, there may be a place for the prescription of e-Voke as part of a smoking cessation programme, but Global Positioning System would be very wary of prescribing them until there was clear evidence of their safety and of their efficacy in helping people to quit”, he said.
The number of ex-smokers who were vaping at the time of the report’s publication was 400,000.
So far, no companies have applied to register their e-cigarette for smoking cessation purposes so there are no e-cigs in New Zealand approved for smoking cessation purposes. A Gallup poll released on December 10 showedcigarette smoking among young adults dropped 12 percentage points to 22 percent in the past decade.
The 45-year-old started smoking at the age of 13 and has spent the last 32 years as a regular smoker.
