New Hampshire woman was slaying victim found in 1981
It has been three decades since a woman was found slain in Arizona, but now, police said they have been able to identify her as a woman from Nashua.
He helped exhume her body in 2012 so investigators could use her skull to reconstruct her face and that’s when detectives noticed an uncanny resemblance to the picture of a mystery woman found in the collections of a convicted killer.
The prime suspect in the case is John Kalhauser, 61, who’s in prison for killing his wife.
Gerow said his sister met Kalhauser at a nightclub in Dracut, Mass. He said Kalhauser was on the run after getting into a fight with a man at the nightclub, almost killing him. Now detectives have identified her as Brenda Gerow. Suitt said once the photo hit social media, law enforcement heard from people who said the person in the image looked familiar.
Bill Gerow said he was contacted two days before Christmas 2014 by authorities in Arizona who thought their Jane Doe murder victim may be Brenda Gerow. Meantime, Kalhauser has only been named a “person of interest” as the investigation continues. “There is a few back story, but I am not at liberty to disclose … this is an Arizona case”.
If you realize something that may assist detectives, name the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Kalhauser’s wife Diane Van Reeth went missing in 1995, and four years later he was sent to prison after pleading no contest to second degree murder.
In 1996, he was convicted of shooting his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend.
Kalhauser was arrested and released on bail.
