New Homeland Season 5,Episode 5 Official Spoilers,Synopsis Released By Showtime
Meanwhile, Saul and Allison are shown to be launching an operation – it would only mean an operation to catch Carrie and Quinn. It’s the same reason we could never really buy into the idea that Saul was the one who put the kill order out on Carrie in the first place, no matter how insistent Quinn was about it. Having Saul do that would essentially break Homeland.
In Episode 2 Carrie (Claire Danes) found out that she was the target of the assassination attempt in Lebanon. At least, it seems like Allison’s the one pulling the strings in this episode all about trustworthiness of the people around you, whether it’s a dogged journalist or a greedy hacker or – in Carrie’s case – a former partner-in-crime.
Stephan Rabold/Showtime Mandy Patinkin as Saul Berenson and Miranda Otto as Allison Carr in “Homeland”.
“Whoever wants you dead wants me dead”, Quinn says.
Will Quinn kill Carrie?
Whatever the reason, this now sets up a dilemma for Saul that is sure to come as he will have to choose between his two protégés at a few point in the not too distant future. One as a surrogate (albeit now estranged) daughter and the other as a lover. Turns out Saul lied last episode when he said America “was out of the business of overthrowing Arab dictators”. But, surprise again! The general’s plane explodes on his way home, which leaves Saul and Allison back at square one.
Going by the promotional pictures, the two will team up to find out who is trying to kill Carrie.
The couple plans to replace the Syrian dictator with his cousin by marriage General Youssef (Igal Naor), who’s in Switzerland getting his daughter a new kidney.
Saul (Mandy Patinkin) was looking for Carrie to discuss Lebanon and grilled Düring as to her whereabouts. Most likely not. Images from Showtime’s website show Carrie wearing a wig and working with Quinn. And the cold, hard Quinn of this season finally softened just a bit after he took a bullet to the gut and Carrie was mending his wounds.
Quinn appeared to be following a woman and her son.
Carrie comes to after her woodland showdown with Quinn, waking up in Quinn’s lair – the Quinncave, I’m calling it – where Quinn reveals he was sent to kill her, but obviously didn’t. Did we know that? It’s not that I want Carrie to no longer have to deal with her bipolarity, it’s that I wish the show wouldn’t use it as a “danger of the week”, a phrase a commenter used on this post deftly breaking down the issue of “unstable” Carrie by Alan Sepinwall over at Hitfix.
The promo ends as viewers hear Quinn say, “Stop moving Carrie”. Oh, but it does, Quinn. Homeland season 5 episode 4 (Why Is This Night Different?) will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime on Sunday, October 25. But finally Carrie and Quinn have reunited, and despite their now dire circumstances, it’s a very welcome reunion indeed.
