New images from HBO’s Westworld featuring James Marsden and Anthony
Over the last few days there have been a couple of news stories surrounding the Westworld TV show, we’ve combined them here to save you all that clicking. Recent updates will be placed at the top of the page and older news will be filed to the rest of the article.
Eion Bailey of Once Upon A Time will play Logan, described as a “louche bachelor and veteran Westworld guest”. Deadline reports that Miranda Otto has left the show, and her part is recast with Sidse Babbett Knudsen (Borgen), playing “Theresa Cullen, the pivotal operations head of Westworld“. “His hedonistic romp through Westworld is equally motivated by self-indulgence and a desire to help his friend, William”, we’re told.
The trailer will not be posted online, but HBO did release some photos, below.
The beautifully crafted troll job by Mr. Nolan wasn’t the only Westworld news of the day.
“Westworld” is scheduled to air in 2016.
Now, if Game of Thrones has taught us anything, it’s that HBO makes non-ambitious, low-budget shows that nobody wants to watch. The sci-fi thriller is based on the 1973 film of the same name directed and written by Michael Crichton, and centers around a technologically sophisticated amusement park that recreates long gone time periods for patrons to enjoy.
“Westworld” is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin. Also, the robots bleed, so no need to worry about a lack of gore.
Westworld comes from writer/director/executive producer Jonathan Nolan, who we’re now toasting because of Interstellar, as well as JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions.
Featured in this slate of images is James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood, Anthony Hopkins, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, and Ed Harris. The late Jerry Weintraub is also credited as an executive producer.
