New Jersey faces snow, coastal flooding from storm
New Jersey is expected to see more flooding and snow over the next few days due to several storm systems.
National Weather Service meteorologists in Taunton have put Plymouth County, Cape Cod and the Islands under a winter storm watch that lasts from tomorrow morning to early Tuesday.
A low-pressure system off the North Carolina coast may strengthen as it moves northwestward and out to sea, according to The Weather Channel.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for the five boroughs, as well as Nassau, Westchester, Fairfield, Middlesex and Monmouth counties from 3 a.m.to 6 p.m. Monday.
DE beaches are facing the possibility of more flooding and erosion as they recover from significant damage just two weeks ago.
The bigger snow threat comes Monday night through Tuesday.
The high Monday will be 37 degrees; the high Tuesday will be 36 degrees.
The coastal flood warning was in effect through noon Tuesday, with moderate flooding anticipated at high tide Monday night, with moderate to minor flooding at Tuesday morning’s high tide.
Wave heights on the nearshore ocean waters are expected to be in the 8- to 12-foot range, the forecast says.
The snow may make traveling more hard for both the Tuesday morning and evening rush hour commutes.
And the snow may be mixed with rain, which, combined with temperatures in the upper 30s, would lower snowfall amounts.
