New Man City badge leaked on IPO website
Manchester City fans were handed another Christmas treat on Boxing Day ahead of their clash against Sunderland – the unveiling of their brand new crest.
Described by a club statement as “a modern original”, the badge was chosen following a 30-day consultation period between designers and fans.
As expected, this crest not only bears strong similarities to the crests of old, but it also looks very similar to the crests that the other clubs in the City Football Group are using right now.
The new design returns to the classic round shape of previous crests prior to 1997 and incorporates the traditional Manchester ship, three rivers and red rose.
City may be a touched irked by the leaking of the badge but, well, spare a thought for this guy. This is what I love about this club and the journey I have been on since I’ve been here.
However, the new logo did not reap positive response from their fans. It’s no different with this badge.
Earlier this month, it was revealed City were considering offering free tattoo removal to supporters who had the soon-to-be-changed club crest inked on their skin.
