New Marvel/Sony Spider-Man Movie Pushed Up 3 Weeks
Star Wars: Episode VIII also moved its release today to December of 2017. Well, let’s just say that Sony took this opportunity to supply the next Spider-Man movie and their Jumanji remake with shiny new opening weekends.
Disney, who produces the Pirates of the Carribean series, are the parent company of Marvel Studios, who will co-produce the Spider-Man reboot with Sony.
“Jumanji” will be pushed back from Christmas Day 2016 into the now open weekend of July 28, 2017 – previously occupied by the superhero tentpole. Spider-Man and his new friends will need to wield all of their power to overcome their greatest challenge yet. Jon Watts (“Cop Car”) will direct.
Sony has changed the release date of the upcoming new standalone Spider-Man reboot set to star Tom Holland. Holland will make his first appearance in this year’s Captain America: Civil War.
In any case, the great Summer Movie Schedule Swap of 2017 seems to have come to a final conclusion.
The shifting of release dates is very common, especially since Disney’s slate of films is very extensive.
It’s a real release date-a-palooza around the studio system right now.
