New Nokia 3310 is official with new Style and $50 price tag
In 2017, Nokia sold its handset business to Microsoft for $7 Billion and a year ago, HMD bought the brand Nokia from Microsoft.
HMD Global is creating a buzz in the smartphone world with the launch on Sunday, Feb. 26, of new Nokia phones at the pre-Mobile World Congress 2017 event in Barcelona, Spain. Still, the previous rumors did not spoiled the look of the new Nokia 3310, a phone that HMD Global chose to revive.
Unlike the original, the new Nokia 3310 gets a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 3.5mm audio jack. The new Nokia 3310 will be available in Warm Red and Yellow with a glossy back. But HMD Global Oy, the Finnish manufacturer that owns rights to market the Nokia brand, re-launched the phone ahead of the annual conference.
Described by the company as a “modern classic”, the 3310 became a much-loved mobile thanks to its long battery life, resilient casing and collection of features including the game Snake.
Most important of all, the new/old phone WILL have Snake, which is what we’re all really clamouring for.
After 17 years, Nokia has re-released one of its “icons”, the 3310 model. The company also announced that the Nokia 6 will be available in Arte Black special edition model as well.
Move over iPhone, out of the way Samsung – old is the new “new”.
The phone has a color screen instead of the monochromatic display of old.
“That’s ten times better than the original, which typically lasted for a little more than two hours of talk-time”. Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will run on Google’s (GOOGL.O) Android platform. The interesting thing is that the popular “Snake” game has been retained and upgraded by the company.
