New OnePlus phone leaks to reveal a beefed up OnePlus X
Considering that the OnePlus X had a fair few fans for its design language and overall build, the OnePlus 2 Mini is thankfully not trying to fix what is not broken in this department.
In mid-December an unnamed OnePlus handset appeared for GFX benchmarking that looked likely to be the OnePlus 2 Mini.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has had a very busy 2015 – launching the well reviewed “smartphone killer” the OnePlus 2 and also bringing a smaller cheaper OnePlus X to market, while at the same time making it easier than ever to actually buy their handsets.
Looks like the device will be carrying the same mediocre cameras present in the OnePlus X. There’s a 13 megapixel camera at the back and an 8 megapixel selfie camera.
First of all, the smartphone will pack a 4.99-inch AMOLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution.
According to Techno Buffalo, the upcoming OnePlus smartphone is going to feature the same specifications as OnePlus X ranging from 3GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, a 13MP rear camera sensor and an 8MP front shooter. Therefore the RAM, internal storage, and front-facing camera specs are also different from those in the earlier benchmark spot, although there could be two different models for storage.
We’ll point out that the OnePlus 2 Mini specs listed by TENAA are the more reliable so we’re inclined to go with those for now. The device will also come with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which really hurts its chances of being a recommendable phone unless the Android 6.0 update comes along soon. The device will probably come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device will include connectivity features such as 4G, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi and will weigh 138 grams respectively.
Some of the specifications suggested by the Tenaa listing contradict that of GFXBench’s.
