New photo showcases Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool
Of the recent crop of superhero films by the major studios, Deadpool will be the first to be R-rated. Though there has yet to be a confirmation, Deadpool is expected to have a panel at Comic-Con.
A new image published this week in Entertainment Weekly gives fans a better look at Reynolds’ costume in the upcoming superhero movie.
If you want to include more comic book action movies with explicitly non-superpowered superheroes, throw in 300, Wanted, Sin City, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Timecop among others.
The initial photography for the film is already finished and hopes are up that Fox will be releasing new surprises regarding “Deadpool” during the San Diego Comic Con.
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of ex- Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. What we’ve seen so far is exciting, but it would seem that the folks behind the film still need to compare it to something in order for folks to understand what they’re getting into. “It is graphic. Nothing is taboo”.
According to first-time director Tim Miller, who worked on David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, he sees Deadpool’s on-screen presence as a corollary to Tyler Durden from Fight Club.
EW also included this new image of the Merc With the Mouth with his pistols drawn near an overturned auto.
Reynolds and Hildebrand star with TJ Miller, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano and Ed Skrein.
You can check out the eight awesome teasers that fans have been treated to so far as you wait for “Deadpool” which is scheduled to be released next year.
