New Poll Ranks Germany Best Country In The World
The survey was compiled by US News, the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and brand consultants BAV Consulting.
Countries were ranked according to a set of 65 attributes presented in a survey of more than 16,000 people from across the globe. The U.S.’ ratings also dropped when assessed for business-friendliness: the U.S. comes in 23.
It continues: “Despite being the foremost global power, the USA still faces domestic challenges, including racial tensions, income inequality and an increasingly polarized electorate”.
Globalization has expanded a country’s presence beyond its physical borders, and the 2016 Best Countries rankings seek to understand a nation’s worth beyond hard metrics.
A new survey by U.S. News and World Report says that despite the refugee crisis and Europe’s financial mess, Germany is the greatest place on Earth.
Respondents gave their perceptions of the countries over nine categories:adventure, citizenship, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, heritage, movers, open for business, power and quality of life.
The rankings acknowledge progressive politics adopted by Nordic nations, and offer a hat tip to Canada as the country with the “best quality of life” – which is a considerably better finish than its ranking on the UN’s annual Human Development Index. Only the third German since World War II to hold the chancellorship for a decade or more, Merkel has shown decisive leadership on several issues’.
The survey reveals that many people believe that Asia will play a central role in global dynamics in coming times. “India encourages pluralism, inclusiveness and equal opportunity to all its citizens”.
The UK is #3 on the list of the best countries which includes the 60 most developed nations.
Singapore is perceived as the “most foward-looking” country in the world.
