New Quentin Tarantino Featurette & Jennifer Lawrence Almost Had A Role
There was once a possibility that Jennifer Lawrence could have two movies coming out this holiday season – she met with writer/director Quentin Tarantino to discuss starring in his new movie The Hateful Eight! Tarantino admits that it was the limited 70mm release of The Master that laid the foundation for The Weinstein Company to begin its massive rollout for The Hateful Eight, and the two filmmakers reminisce in the video below on their experiences viewing 70mm films decades ago. The duo will be working together after a gap of 20 years. Tim Roth and Michael Madsen are a couple of other familiar names on the cast list.
“What I want to do basically is I want to write novels and I want to write theater and I want to direct theater”, Tarantino said. The passengers, bounty hunter John Ruth (Russell) and his fugitive Daisy Domergue (Leigh), race towards the town of Red Rock where Ruth, known in these parts as ‘The Hangman, ‘ will bring Domergue to justice. “I’d always felt that he’d made a lot of films but he hadn’t gotten to physically make them yet”.
Director Quentin Tarantino says he may quit film-making after making 10 movies.
However, despite the fact that he didn’t get to work alongside Jennifer Lawrence on The Hateful Eight, Quentin Tarantino only had positive remarks to make about the Oscar-winning actress, who picked up the Best Actor Academy Award accolade for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. “She was just doing me a courtesy to see me, I think”.
