New search warrant executed at Rachelle Bond’s home
Bella Bond, the toddler whose body washed up on Deer Island months ago, will be laid to rest in Winthrop, The Boston Globereported.
Melvin Smith, a maintenance man, said he saw state police detectives take a refrigerator out of the building and load it onto a flat bed truck.
Rachelle Bond, the mother of Baby Doe reported that her boyfriend killed the girl when she wouldn’t go to sleep one night and he called her a demon. Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office would not confirm whether troopers were there to execute a search warrant yesterday. Then, prosecutors say, Bella’s lifeless body was put in a plastic bag and stuffed in a refrigerator.
Police did not specify what they searched for at the Dorchester apartment.
Bella Bond, who investigators referred to as “Baby Doe“, was discovered dead on a Deer Island beach back in June. Both pleaded not guilty.
Rachelle Bond is being held on $1 million bail and McCarthy is being held without bail.
Rachelle Bond and her boyfriend Michael McCarthy were arraigned Monday.
