New ‘Sherlock’ trailer released for special airing eventually
With all being said and shown, Sherlock is returning to us with this Sherlock Special on Christmas through BBC One.
One spoiled us on Wednesday night.
With such production timeline, it is likely for “Sherlock” to air on BBC in the United Kingdom and PBS in the U.S. around the second half of next year, which is basically its airing schedule during its first season.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman go Victorian in the chill-inducing first trailer for Sherlock’s Christmas special. However for this particular special, it will be set in Victorian times, according to Deadline.
The dark and bleak trailer does not reveal many clues, but we do see a glimpse of Mary Morstan – also known as Mrs. Watson (played by Amanda Abbington) – standing by John Watson’s side in the 221B Baker Street apartment.
David Arnold and Michael Price’s music grips you and you pay attention to what Cumberbatch minus the curls has to say: The stage is set, the curtain rises, we are ready to begin! But there’s also the usual Sherlock meta nods as well: Watson shoves a deerstalker cap into Sherlock’s chest and barks, “You’re Sherlock Holmes”. If only god knows how much did we miss their chemistry.
“You’re Sherlock Holmes, wear the damn hat”, Freeman’s Watson says for fans across the world. But the 90-minute episode will be independent of the upcoming fourth season.
Blimey, they’re all at it – where are we, Detroit? Fans would love it to be sure, but as Moffat said, “That’s a question that I get asked so often, and I can’t keep answering it. It’s all right for ‘Doctor Who.’ That’s fine”. There’s no premiere date announced for either there or America, but our guess is that US audiences will see this on PBS at a few point either in late December or early January. Bringing back the thrilling experience back this Christmas, Sherlock’s 4th season new trailer has been dropped.
